Jennifer M Rouse, DVM CCRP
Dr. Rouse has been in general small animal practice since 2001. She is a 1993 North Carolina State graduate and a 2000 North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine graduate. After interning at Southeastern Maryland Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in 2000-2001, she spent 4 years as a small animal veterinarian at Quail Corners and Hidden Valley Animal Hospitals in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 2005, she relocated to the Philadelphia area and has practiced both in Bensalem and Pottstown, PA since then. She and her family moved to Havertown, PA in 2013 where they took over a small animal general practice. She completed her certification as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) at the University of Tennessee’s program in June 2014 and has been working with both general practice and rehabilitation medicine since then. In June 2021, she left general practice to pursue a full time Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Medicine practice. Her experience includes emergency medicine, surgery, general medicine, and preventative care. Her professional interests include canine sports medicine and surgery, pain management, anesthesiology, general surgery (orthopedic and soft tissue), reconstructive surgery and chronic wound management and rehabilitation medicine. She obtained her certification as a PennHip member in 2004 and has a special interest in hip dysplasia and disorders of the stifle. She is also certified in Stem Cell therapy and is looking forward to pursuing her certification in Veterinary Chiropractic Therapy in the fall of 2021.
She currently splits her time between her new practice, Homestead Veterinary Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation in Havertown, and spending time on her family’s farm in North Carolina with her husband, son and four dogs: a Border Collie and three Border Staffies. In her free time, she enjoys competing with her dogs in flyball and is starting them in dock diving and a few other sports. Other hobbies include organic gardening, home renovation, and backyard disc training with the dogs.
